This course introduces the student to the knowledge and skills required to recognize common gym workplace Health & Safety (OSHA or HSE) issues, perform gym safety surveys, and to the relevant statutory requirements and official guidance for maintaining a safe gym environment for employees and clients. Upon completion of this course the student will:

  • Be aware of relevant current statutory requirements and official guidance (USA & UK)

  • Understand their personal responsibilities regarding gym safety

  • Be cognizant of safety risk control in the gym

  • Creating your Gym Health and Safety Documentation

  • Keeping Health & Safety Records

  • Risk Assessment for Worksite Hazards

The student is assessed using one (2) online written theory tests and one (1) formative risk identification test conducted by student responses to a programmed video presentation. Each written assessment is weighted to be 50% of the possible score for the course. Each of the assessments must be passed with a minimum mark of 75% for the course to count towards credit.
